This was a project where I was tasked to paint over an existing painting to create something new. I chose to paint over a the “Sazai Hall at the Temple of the Five Hundred Arhats”(1830-1832) by Katsushika Hokusai.
To match the look and feel of this painting, I created a brush that would match the texture of the rest of the original painting.
To matched the colors of the painting, I used the color picker and sampled from the original painting.
Finally, to unify the image I used some blending modes..
