This was a project where I decided to make my own design for the book Howl’s Moving Castle by Diane Wynne Jones.

The book was first published in 1986, so it was an older book where the cover changed about three other times.

Taking a look at the past cover designs, I thought couple of them had too many elements going on, so I wanted to make the design more sleek and simple. 

I went with a warmer color scheme and simple graphics. 

I mainly focused on the typography as well, wanting to make it more fun! 

The title has the word “moving” in it, so I wanted to make the title look as if it were actually moving by adding the gears.
